Reflection on China's economy growth

Since initiating market reforms in 1978, China has shifted from a centrally planned to a market based economy and experienced rapid economic and social development. GDP growth averaging about 10 percent a year has lifted more than 500 million people out of poverty.

With a population of 1.3 billion, China recently became the second largest economy and is increasingly playing an important and influential role in the global economy.

Yet China remains a developing country (its per capita income is still a fraction of that in advanced countries)and its market reforms are incomplete. Official data shows that about 98.99 million people still lived below the national poverty line of RMB 2,300 per year at the end of 2012. With the second largest number of poor in the world after India, poverty reduction remains a fundamental challenge.

Singapore may be implicated since many of us will move to China to do business because of China's economy growth. This will cause us to have less business people in Singapore.

Comments on Group 3's Presentation

Group 3's presentation was great and the 'advertisement' that was made as a skit caught my attention as it was funny and loud enough. The skit was interesting and caught my attention because it was quite silly but the ideas were clearly shown. However, I think that not all the members participated in the skit and the skit would be even better if all the members participates

Comment on group 3 presentation on product

I think group 3 presentation on the broom was out of the box. They thought of crazy ways you could use a broom for, which is very creative. Their volume was also audible too. However some members were not involve in the presentation. Therefore they should include themselves more in the presentation.

Group 3's product is the Panda Broom. I personally think that their way of presenting with a skit is good since it is a creative idea, like you are making an advertisement. But I think the major flaw of this group's presentation is that Yi Zhuo was overpowering the rest, so even if the rest of the group's presentation skills are good, they will still be overpowered by Yi Zhuo's volume and actions. Hence I think that in order to have a better balanced presentation, Yi Zhuo should tone down a little or the other group members should speak up more and have actions that aid in their presentation.

Comments on Group 3

Group three is very creative, they think of the broom as a multi-purpose broom with magical functions though some are unrealistic. They presented it with a skit which is quite enjoyable for me. It is not so messy and very clear and easy to understand. The members are loud enough to be heard clearly.(I sit at the last row)
What I like is that this group seem quite confident and they are very natural with their skit. The speaker is very fluent and the product they are promoting sounds quite convincing.
However, I think they should improve the assigning of speaker. Some of them only spoke a few lines or nothing at all. They should not just let a few people to do the majority of the presentation.

Reflection of China's economic growth

China gains its economic growth from its mass of unemployed workers and natural resources. This allows China to produce masses of goods for export. They also make it easier to set up factories by undervaluing the currency and charging low taxes. Coupled with the mass of unemployed workers, resulting in low salaries, China is a very attractive place to start a business.
The implication on singapore is that many people will want to start a business in China and not singapore, resulting in a lower number of businesses in Singapore. As more and more business man goes to China to start a business, there will be less business man in Singapore. On the other hand, the cheap goods increases living standards of Singaporeans.

Reflection on China economic

Reflections ( calyn )
China is the largest exporter of goods in the world and is a global hub for manufacturing. The factors that explains why China has so many imports from other countries is because of he  lower standard of living, which allows companies in China to pay lower wages to workers. Over the past 30 years or so, seizing the opportunity of the world economy's long-term prosperity and the deepening economic globalization, China has opened wider to the outside world, attracted and utilized foreign investment, introduced advanced technology, transformed and upgraded domestic industries, and achieved rapid development in foreign trade through all-round participation in the international division of labor and competition, thus opening up to international trade.

Reflection of China's economic growth

China's economic is growing rapidly for the past years and may surpass the United States of America. China was once not opened for business but in the past years. China has opened up and since created business opportunities with other countries and gain profit from it. Recently, SuZhuo and Singapore has collaborated together to create a city. I feel that China should seize every business opportunity and gain profit.

Reflection of China's economic growth

I think that China's economic growth and opening up of their country to international trade will allow China to gain more profit as there will be more trade and businesses opportunities. There are many countries want to trade with China since China is a big country and their corporate tax rate is one of the lowest which lead to many chances for gaining more profit. With more trading partners, China's economic growth will be even higher. There will also be more employment between countries and this will decrease the amount of unemployed citizens and increase the GDP per capita. China will also be able to improve their bilateral ties between other countries as there are interactions with each other. However, with higher economic growth and more businesses, there will be more factories and industrialization which will result in pollution. The PSI in China is very high with 100 as normal. Many citizens were sick and some children even die of lung cancers due to the polluted air they breathe in.

The possible implications on Singapore is Singapore will have more businesses as we can trade with one more country which is China. There will be more proft for Singapore and also be able to form friendship between the two countries. Singapore is also able to set up businesses in China and by doing so, there will be more jobs available for the unemployed citizens as they can go to China to work. Since China has strong economic growth, they are very trustable and Singapore can sell products to China's market.

In conclusion, with the economic growth in China, there will be many countries willing to work with China and trade when China opens up to international trade. It is profitable not only for China but to other countries as well. But China should also think about their environment. With more money but resulting in citizens getting unhealthy is not good.

Blog work for 9/2/15 Reflection of China's economic growth

I think that China's rapid economic growth and opening up of their country to international trade will increase the source of revenue for the country, because there will be more jobs available to China's citizens, which will decrease the rate of unemployment that will result in greater income for the citizens and increase the position for China's GPA per capita ranking. China is also an ideal place to start a business since its corporate tax rate is lower than other country's hence the damage attained when the business fails will be lesser.

The possible implications in Singapore are that more Singlrean businesses and businessmen may flock to China since it is safer and better to start businesses there. More Singaporeans may start to aim for the Chinese market to earn more money since countries from all over the world are aware of China's potential as a business market and more foreign companies have started their businesses there, hence increasing the amount of jobs available. Most of the foreigners have a hard time com uniting with the locals there, there will be a need for translators. Since Sinagaporean culture is a mix of Eastern and Western culture, most Singaporeans are fluent in both Chinese and English, hence they will be able to fill in that position.

In conclusion, China's rapid economic growth and opening up of their country to international trade will affect countries of the world in terms of economic growth and many others

Life in 2020

Life in 2020 due to aging population

I feel that in the 2020, the number of elderlys will increase and the number of young people will decrease. This is because, nowadays, people on singapore tend to prefer a smaller family, which can lead to couples having less and less children. Hence, this may lead to an aging population. The number of  people in the workforce will decrease, hence, retirement ages will increase as there will be a lack of workers to increase the economic of singapore. The productivity and economic growth will also decrease since there are less workers. The young people will have to work harder to support the elderlys and more facilities must be built to support to the elderlys. More hospitals must be built to support the elderlys who have weaker bones in general and they are more prone to injuries unlike the young people. Young people will also have the pay higher taxes since there are less people paying taxes. The work load on the young people will be much heavier as there are more elderlys than the working population.

One child policy

The one-child policy was originally designed to be a one-generation policy.[18] It is enforced at the provincial level and enforcement varies; some provinces have relaxed the restrictions. After Henan loosened the requirement, the majority of provinces and cities[19][20] permit two parents who were 'only children' themselves to have two children. In 2013, this rule was relaxed even further: couples in which one parent is an only child are allowed to have a second child.[21] In rural areas, families are allowed two children without incurring penalties.[22] The one-child limit has mostly been enforced in densely populated urban areas, and implementation varies from location to location.[23] Beginning in 1987, official policy granted local officials the flexibility to make exceptions and allow second children in the case of "practical difficulties" (such as cases in which the father is a disabled serviceman) or when both parents are single children,[24] and some provinces had other exemptions worked into their policies as well. In most areas, families are allowed to apply to have a second child if their first-born is a daughter.[25] Furthermore, families with children with disability in China have different policies and families whose first child suffers from physical disabilitymental illness, or intellectual disability are allowed to have more children.[26] Second children may be subject to birth spacing (usually 3 or 4 years). Children born in overseas countries are not counted under the policy if they do not obtain Chinese citizenship. Chinese citizens returning from abroad are allowed to have a second child.[27]
Following the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, a new exception to the regulations was announced in Sichuan province for parents who had lost children in the earthquake.[29][30] Similar exceptions have previously been made for parents of severely disabled or deceased children.[31] People have also tried to evade the policy by giving birth to a second child in Hong Kong, but at least for Guangdong residents, the one-child policy is also enforced if the birth was given in Hong Kong or abroad.[32]

Life in singapore in twenty years due to aging population

If the population ages in Singapore, then the work force will become smaller and smaller, resulting in a drop in singapores economy. As singapores economy drops, the living standards will detiorate, and more people will live in poverty. When this happens, the government will have to implement policies to help increase the working population, such as increasing benefits and lessening the burden of having children. Also, the government would increase the age limit of those eligible to work, and will be encouraging old people to take up intellectual jobs to offer reprise from the problem.

Dwindling population in Singapore

I feel that Singapore in 20 years will have a lot more elderly than youngsters as the fertility rate in Singapore is very low. Therefore, lesser youngsters will be in the country. Technology will be more advanced and will aphelp us in many ways. Maybe transport from one place to another would be faster and easier. It will greatly help the elderly, especially those who are physically disabled and make their life's easier.
